Religion and ethics

NSW schools offer special religious education and special education in ethics. Approved providers deliver these, where available.

Write to the school if you wish to withdraw your child from special religious education, sometimes known as scripture. Special education in ethics is an option for your primary-age child if you withdraw them from special religious education. For more information, visit Religion and ethics.

At Liverpool West Public School, Scripture is delivered on a Thursday:

K-2 (including K-6 Sky and K-3 Mint) – 11:40am-12:10pm

Stage 2 – 12:10-12:40pm

Stage 3 (including 3-6 Sunshine and 3-6 Mauve) – 12:40-1:10pm.

On enrolment parents/carers are given the SRE/SEE Participation Letter to complete and return. After the initial enrolment, notification of changes to a child's enrolment in SRE/SEE need to be given to the school office, in writing.

The following SRE classes are offered at name Public School:

During the time that SRE/SEE classes are being held, students not attending will be located in other classrooms and will participate in meaningful lessons, delivered by LWPS teachers, which provoke higher order thinking and problem-solving, including social skills and values.
